An Introduction To 2012, What It Means To Me
2012 means to many things to people. If you are not familiar with the concept of 2012, then here is a short paragraph about it.
People all over the world are trying desperately to make preparations for the date of 12/21/2012, whether it is putting together some kind of survival kit, or buying old abandoned missile silos, and many others.
According to sources like the Mayan Long Calendar, on this date the world is supposed to end, meaning that through some horrible catastrophe, all life on Earth will die. What type of catastrophe is really the controversy here.
It is true that some major things are scheduled to happen around this time. The sun is on a sun spot downward spiral, meaning that there hasn’t been much activity for awhile, and this time is the predicted date that the activity will start again, ten times worse than any we’ve seen in history, sending out solar flares that could not only act as a giant EMP, but somehow burn through our atmosphere.
It is also going to be a time when there will be a major celestial line up of the planets, and some theorize that this will cause all kinds of gravitational shifts, which will tear up the continents as we know it.
In Either of these cases, there is no kind of preparation or survival kit that is going to prevent this from happening.
Some of the changes not only happen all the time, but are happening right now. Climate change, the possibility of the magnetic poles reversing, all of these things have been regular occurrences, over the course of our world’s history.
You can see that there are already great changes in the weather, volcanoes and earthquakes happening in places where they have never happened before. While this may be new to us, Mother Nature changes around about every 300,000 years or so, and we have been in a rest period far longer than that.
Still, it’s not going to start on some certain date, or happen is a period of weeks or months, or even years. This process that hundreds of years, and the only reason it would be sped up is because of our own stupidity, like our hunt for fossil fuels, polluting our environment, and the like.
What does 2012 mean to me? Well for one thing, I believe that there will indeed be some dramatic changes, not just physically, but politically as well as spiritually.
Far too long many organized religions have talked about Armageddon, drawing a line in the sand so to speak, then when the line is crossed, and everything is fine, they draw another and another. What happens this time?
Either their world will come to an end, or, if it doesn’t happen, AGAIN, maybe it will be a turning point, and people’s faith will truly be put to the test.
For me, I have put together what survival kit I can. A trailer for independence, a small stock of food and supplies, and other kinds of preparation. How much can you do really, if the world is truly going to end, then you are going to die anyway, right?
If you believe that in a little over two years there is going to be no more life, then the only real things you can do to prepare is get closer to your friends and family, put aside all the hatred, and the grudges you have, and try to be happy.
